Abstract
The Sundarbans mangrove ecosystem is the world’s largest contiguous mangrove forest. It provides vital ecosystem services and high levels of carbon sequestration, as well as protecting the Ganges-Brahmaputra-Meghna Delta from coastal storm surges. However, severe tropical cyclones are increasingly threatening the structural integrity and long-term resilience of this vital ecosystem.
